Don't cry over spilled milk is a popular saying meaning there is no point in obsessing over past events that cannot be changed. In a lot of ways this saying shows to be true. What about events in the past that need to be obsessed over to make a change?
It is devastating how many young people lost their lives this passed year. Whether is was self inflicted, intent on others, drug overdoses, etc, so many people experienced the pain of losing a child, a friend, a grandchild, or family in general. One issue seems to be the lack of escape that feels possible for ones who feel hopeless. Another major issue is gun possession and how dangerous it is not to have a strictly regulated system. So many innocent students have lost their lives to poor system management, ignorant supervisors, and a gun held by evil intent.
I wanted to show the juxtaposition between innocence and violence by taking symbols of purity and youth and positioning them in a violent and tragic manner.
