WOW

To know me is to know my mind. My artwork has recently been a huge outlet to support the craziness of my mind and the consumption my mental health has had on it. Overrun with constant negativity and dreadful thoughts, most of which are simply untrue. I tend to wear a mask, as most people do, to hide my darkest parts and darkest emotions. That mask can begin to crack if my demons grow too strong. I create my own demons. The mirrors reflection that is no longer mine, the feeling that my sadness is contagious, the mess I have made of what I once was. I released these demons for this project, poetically confessing their existence. I laid these words across found, manipulated, and collaged images, overlaying with white line work. Taking what is and making it what is not. My thoughts interchange what is real and what isn't, leaving me masked. Not only do we mask ourselves to the world, but our minds mask our vision to see the world and ourselves clearly.
